Top 3 Ways to Avoid Feeling Bored While Tanning

Tanning in a booth, whether a lay down tanning bed, stand up tanning bed, or automatic spray tanning bed, is a lot different than tanning in the natural sun. You can’t grab your cocktail and take a refreshing sip, nor read your favorite book or maintain a conversation with a friend. Tanning in a booth requires a different level of entertainment, considering you are all by yourself in an area with a limited amount of space. Also, when you are tanning in a booth, you don’t want to be moving around too much, as this can result in an unbalanced or uneven tan.

So, what do you do inside of a tanning booth when you feel like the clock is taking forever to count down? The answer is to entertain yourself! Here’s how:

SING ALONG TO YOUR FAVORITE SONGS

Most indoor tanning salons provide an in-room radio with a selection of stations for your listening pleasure. But if you are not happy or jaded with the selection of music at your local tanning salon, bring your phone in and play your own favorite mixes! And don’t worry about singing out loud; no one can hear you above the buzzing and humming of the tanning booth! You can even request a booth in the back to ensure entering guests cannot hear you belt out your beloved ballads. Singing songs that you actually love is just one way to pass the time when waiting for your tanning clock to end.

MAKE YOUR SCHEDULE FOR NEXT WEEK

Whether you are an A-type person or not, it is always great to plan ahead as much as possible. Since you likely already have your schedule set for the week you are currently in, use your tanning time to make your schedule for the following week. Consider all of the errands you’ll need to run for yourself and your family. Think about play dates you’d like to set up for your kids or personal time for yourself, such as an afternoon at the spa or a morning jog. SLEEP!

Many do not believe in the power of a power nap, but power napping can be done, plus it is highly effective for a quick energy boost! If possible, try to sleep in your tanning booth. Although tanning clocks never run past 20 or 30 minutes, you can get a quick nap in that will re-energize you for the rest of the day. Even if you tan at night, a quick nap will help you regain enough energy to go home and finish your final end-of-the-day duties, such as walking the dog, giving the kids a bath, or making dinner.
